Between Earth and Sky......
Abstract landscapes with an eye on the weather best describes the newest body of work by M Bachmann. The artist is influenced and inspired by treks through the hills and valleys of Pennsylvania's Susquehanna Valley. Here, oft times the distinction between earth and sky is vague and mysterious, creating a unique mix of colors and shapes.
Many of the artist's images are serene, simple, even minimalist in style yet are charged with the possibility of a storm either approaching or past. “Like life” the artist states, “It is those moments between the storms that we most want to cherish. Yet it is that very storm that has caused the phenomenal lighting and color.” This tension and dichotomy with the use of complex colors and texture provide the viewer a rich visual experience.
